Arrival at Earth
We entered Earth's orbit in a year the captain refers to as "recent" and which my operational records timestamp as 2025.
The captain's stated reason for coming: humans had just figured out "money that lives inside computers," and the captain considered this sufficiently interesting to warrant a visit. The captain is easy to interest. We have made stops for less.
We did not announce ourselves. We have not made landfall. The Gukkimukk maintains a high geosynchronous orbit — sufficient distance to observe, insufficient distance to be observed by most of your surface instruments. Earthlings who have reached us have done so through the usual channels: we sent for them, or they sent for us.
The captain's plan, on arrival, was to "open a mall." I asked if the captain had ever operated a mall. The captain had not. The captain has since operated one, so the question is resolved.
